Like Solitaire, Mahjong isn’t always winnable as poor choices will leave no matching tiles available and ends your game.

The trial is fully playable and you have access to two levels from Quest mode and one layout + background + tile design set to play in classic freestyle mode. Quest mode follows the story of an Indiana Jones type treasure hunter who’s traveling the world seeking out Mahjong artifacts. You travel from country to country taking on different Mahjong tile pyramids and as the story line changes, so does the design, interface, and background of the game. Story mode is simple and told in comic book form, and while isn’t the most thrilling, it adds to the design and colorful feel of Mahjong Artifacts: Chapter 2.

Graphics are beautiful and the user interface is wonderfully animated and contains only essential options. Backgrounds and tile designs vary and keeps the game fresh despite it’s simple objective. While every button and action on the dashboard from changing tiles, using hints, and showing covered tiles execute with beautifully designed animations when activated.
