eBay iPad App
Of the native iPad apps to launch with this April’s inaugural iPad launch, the eBay iPad App will give early adopters and eBay fans a taste of shopping with the iPad. As mobile ecommerce continues to grow, shopping apps like the eBay iPad app and Amazon iPad app will continue to help shoppers browse for clothing, electronics, and make purchases on-the-go.
Whether you’re an actual eBay user or not, the eBay app offers a peak into browsing goods, shopping for deals and checking out the latest auctions on the iPad. The eBay app, like eBay.com, is heavily based around search. You load the app, and square in the middle will be the search bar for you to browse and find products to buy. Search results are displayed in a grid with item pictures and prices that makes it easy browse eBay goods.
In case you’re looking for bargains, eBay’s daily deals are also prominently featured on the main screen below the search bar.
Bidding for an item is quick and simple on the iPad. For this review, I searched for and placed a bid on a laptop dock for my Thinkpad. After finding one from campy11, bidding is done just like the regular website, and the entire search and bid process took less than a minute.
July 25, 2011 Update: If you’re looking to sell items with the app, the iPad 2′s camera makes it easier tan ever to point, shoot, and post items from around the house or your business to post to the iPad. Although there is a drawback of not having a full sized keyboard that makes writing out descriptions on the iPad harder than your computer or laptop.
All-in-all, the eBay iPad app is a great app to search and browse for your shopping needs on the iPad. Even if you don’t use eBay, download the app to see what the iPad can do.
