TweetDeck For iPad App
With so many social media networks and avenues available for us to connect to the world – Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace – it’s so hard to keep track of them all! TweetDeck, an already established social feed aggregator with desktop and iPhone applications, recently released TweetDeck for iPad on April 19th, 2010.
I would have reviewed TweetDeck sooner, but I’m almost ashamed to say, I wasn’t much of a Twitter user until now. So after a week of tweeting from my iPhone and iPad, I may now give TweetDeck a proper review.
TweetDeck brings easy access to your Twitter account(s) right to your iPad. You’re able to add multiple Twitter accounts to your TweetDeck dashboard, add Twitter search columns, view direct messages, follow your mentions, and stay connected to the world. Overall, TweetDeck gives lets you stay connected to the Twitter community without having to open Twitter.com from Safari.
TweetDeck’s look and feel keeps to the same dark black gradient background as the desktop and iPhone versions. Your followers and people you follow fill up every space of the app. Spacing is done perfectly so it’s not overwhelming for you to read. Overall, if you’ve used TweetDeck for your desktop or iPhone, you’re getting same easy access and feel you’ve had elsewhere.
Being a very new app, TweetDeck at the moment only supports Twitter. Facebook, LinkedIn, and MySpace support will be released in later updates. For now, without support for the other major networks, TweetDeck is solely a Twitter application and is limited as such. As I use TweetDeck for my desktop as well, I can’t wait for additional network support and features to roll out to the iPad’s TweetDeck app.
